Awesome

I like this a lot. I'm guessing its a cover... but either way its a really good song. The shit choir sample you used almost ruined it, try looking for some new ones, although I have and failed. Alternatively, load them up with enough effects that they're unrecognizeable. Keep it up. 5/5

Kimken responds:

Nope, it's not a cover. Just something I put together.

I have looked for better choirs, and without results. Hard times :P

//edit:
fixed the choirs, sounds better now..

nice

Nice ambient work. I like the buildup at the end too. Great stuff for some flash movies you have here.

white-shark responds:

thank you very much! for this pleasant review

you suck

This is repetetive and boring. I wouldnt be surprised if you just downloaded some loops and put about 4 of them together to make this song.

Arnas responds:

You sir, know nothing. lol

meh

Way too much echo and you used a freaking FL preset. LAME. There are some parts that sound really good in there, but overall I'm not digging it.

mhb responds:

well at least you're honest. a 30 minute remix isn't supposed to be amazing or epic. i just thought i'd make it sound bad-ass and i did. but thank you for bein' honest.

i don't get it

I honestly tried reviewing this as if it was music. Is this music? This isn't music. Now I'm pissed.

Zeroperiod responds:

This might seem abit wierd to understand but the point of this song wasnt the song itself, rather the creative process that went into making the track. And can you honestly say you've heard two vocal loops steadily slipping apart like that before.

Anywayz, i do make "proper music" so don't judge me for this experiment.

Coincidence?

Wow man. I'm simply amazed. I've heard nothing like this on Newgrounds so far. Its a crazy type of glitche song. Reminds me of soemthing I would only strive to make (does that even make sense?). Brilliant, complex melodies and that fucking part that speeds up (i forget the musical term so its hard to sound smart saying that) was just badass.

You know whats really crazy though, you posted this on the 7th anniversary of the columbine massacre, 7 which is half as many reviews that this song now has, and also the date and month of my own birth which is 7-7-87 meaning I will be 20 on 7-7-07. And 20 which is the day you posted, which makes 4 more reasons why its crazy, 4-20 once again. Coincidence?

lol but seriously you did that on accident? you're one of them nazi freaks aren't you?

good work though 5/5 -chutzpah

WinTang responds:

This song will be the death of both of us!

Thank you, thank you for your review though, a real pleasure to read hehe.
The word you were looking for is 'accelerando'

ps Why'd I get a NINE overall when all other scores are FULL?!

tight

Badass tune you got here. Hard to believe this is 8/16 bit. And way to show off Impulse Tracker, I might have to check it out now if I can. Great panning work. The drum work is a little... repetetive and simple. Nice vocalization too. Instrumentation... awesome.

We don't do much of the same style so its probably a bad idea =$ but hit me up sometime and check out what FL can do.

WinTang responds:

Nah the samples aren't necessarily 8/16 bit, it's more the overall quality of the ones I've been able to find, they're becoming quite rare anyways and most of them are over 10 years old. So I'll usually have to resort to a little old-school feel, however, I did get a bit lucky on this one I s'pose :)

Panning is about the only thing the program can do production-wise... so I'm glad you complimented me on that.

I own a copy of FL and am still planning to learn the ropes of it, it'll have to wait till I have some more time on my hands but once there I will get in touch with you and we can probably make some interesting stuff!

Thanks for the review again, take care

Yay for Fruity Loops =o

Pretty damn good work you got here too. Its one of those tracks where its hard to comment. Usually I'd check it out and be like "interesting..." and move on but I feel obligated to comment.

The music is pretty damn brilliant I'd have to say. You should work on your drum work or at least put more effort into. The beat you used matches the song really well but could have had so much more and still fit in. The mix of instruments - again brilliant. This peice has an ambient feel to it... I doubt you put a compressor on your master track. I would if I were you. I'd also put some louder/lower bass lines in there, but I acknowledge the fact that we obviously write very, very different styles of music and what you're doing works, so keep it up.
4/5 -Chutzpah

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Oh Man thanks for reviewing my track, and I did actually use a compressor on the master track, I used the multiband compressor and had everything how it should be, there shouldn't be any distortion occurring on this track I was very careful in mastering this track I think my mastering is getting much better now as I'm taking more time over my tracks now!

Thanks again for the review!

Peace Out!

Best Nov. MRAC I've heard so far...

Although I've only heard a couple others. You really did a good job on taking that crappy melody and making it into something good. I only skimmed through the rules so forgive me if I say something stupid here...

The string work was very well done and put some awesome twists in the melody. The percussion was good but way too damn repetetive. It seemed kinda long and drawn out (hopefully not over 3' for your sake). Other than that not much else to say. Coulda used some a little bit more hamony and some more lower tones, but that doesn't seem to be what you were going for. With all this considered I honestly would have giving a much lower score, but you were stuck to that using that one melody (which I hated and refused to remix) ...so 5/5.

Oh yeah and way to represent FL and thanks for supporting that thread I made =D

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Yeah I know what you mean about the percussion being repetitive, that was intentional as I had intended for them to sound somewhat like clockwork so I decided that should remain constant throughout the trackm though on top of that my aims were for the instrumentation to draw away from the percussion, and I think I achieved that, but you noticed damn it!!! lol XD

no don't worry this isn't over the 3 minutes if I remember rightly the duration for this track is 1:40 so it's well under the 3 minute criteria

Thanks for the review too

oh dude you forgot to give the 5 that you stated you gave! lol ;)

Peace Out!

Nice way to represent Cubase

Its slow and kinda boring. I'm not here to diss a good song, its just not my style. I also can't really diss on tempo, just sayin my opinion. If my words are not to your liking, my rating I gave you should be. Its a really chill, relaxing and catchy song and that disserves credit. The drums are simple and lack effort, but thats not necessary for this peice. The instrumentation has maybe to much reverb. IE The ringing used on the bell instrument that introduces the song was a little annoying. Overal its a really good song so 5/5.

WinTang responds:

Hehe... about time someone said something critical about this one :)

No probs man, song is intended to be very scarcely arranged, Rhodes are supposed to be drony etc... it can be bliss for some people and annoying to others, taste is always an interesting phenomenon.

Reverb comment noted though, that's one of the things I'd actually be willing to reconsider about this track.

Thanks for your input!

Done.
